OPP INVESTIGATE ROBBERY

(HAWKESBURY, ON) – The Hawkesbury Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a robbery that occurred on Thursday December 14, 2017 at approximately 11:30pm in the Town of Hawkesbury.
An employee of a local restaurant was victim of a robbery when attending a residence on Thursday night for a delivery. As the employee returned to his vehicle, he was surrounded by three suspects who demanded his money. To avoid confrontation, the victim complied with the demand and surrendered the money. The suspects then fled on foot.
The victim was not physically injured during this incident.
The OPP reminds all delivery employees to be aware of their personal safety when attending residences, especially when going to secluded areas. Be aware of your surroundings and remember to lock your vehicle, and never leave your keys or other valuables stored inside. Also, it is recommended not to carry a large amount of cash, just enough to complete transactions.
