THEFT, MISCHIEF, FRAUD, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Marc Campeau, 45, of Cornwall was arrested on August 9th, 2018 and charged with the following:
• Fraud under $5000 x 2
• Mischief under $5000
• Theft under $5000 x 3
• Breach of probation x 5 (for failing to keep the peace)
It is alleged on July 8th, 2018, the man smashed a vehicle window and removed a wallet that did not belong to him. The man also allegedly took a purse that did not belong to him from a vehicle on July 10th, 2018 and while in a store on July 25th, 2018. Further, on July 30th, 2018 and August 1st, 2018, the man attended a Ninth Street business and allegedly attempted to fraudulently return merchandise that had not been paid for. On August 9th, 2018, police located the man. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
THEFT, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Jeffrey Burles, 33, of Cornwall was arrested on August 9th, 2018 and charged with theft under $5000 x 2 and breach of probation x 2 for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on July 29th, 2018 and August 4th, 2018 the man attended a Second Street East business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store on both dates. On August 9th, 2018, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on September 18th, 2018.
REQUEST FOR PUBLIC ASSISTANCE
Cornwall, ON – The Cornwall Community Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a wallet theft from a Ninth Street grocery store. The incident occurred at approximately 12:20 pm on August 4th, 2018.
