TODDLER STRUCK BY MOTOR VEHICLE
Cornwall, ON – On July 10th, 2019 at approximately 4:17 pm, the Cornwall Police Service was called to investigate a motor vehicle collision where a vehicle had struck a toddler in the area of Fifth Street and Sydney Street. The vehicle subsequently fled the area without stopping. The toddler sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT
Cornwall, ON – Darryl Markell, 45, of Cornwall was arrested on July 10th, 2019 and charged with two counts of criminal harassment. It is alleged the man repeatedly sent messages to a woman known to him on July 9th, 2019 and July 10th, 2019 and police were contacted to investigate. On July 10th, 2019, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on August 13th, 2019.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 10th, 2019 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged the man assaulted his girlfriend on July 8th, 2019 and police were contacted to investigate. On July 10th, 2019 he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 6th, 2019. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, CARRY A CONCEALED WEAPON, ASSAULT, THREATS, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 10th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant for assaulting his ex-girlfriend and taking her phone. He was also charged with the following:
• Assault with a weapon x 2
• Assault
• Carry a concealed weapon x 2
• Threats x 2
• Breach of probation x 10 (for possessing a weapon, failing to reside at an approved address, failing to notify court/probation of a change of address, contacting his ex-girlfriend, being within 200 metres of his ex-girlfriend, and failing to keep the peace)
• Breach of recognizance x 2 (for contacting and being within 200 metres of his ex-girlfriend)
It is alleged on July 4th, 2019, the man again assaulted his ex-girlfriend, brandishing a knife, and made threats to kill her and their child. On July 5th, 2019, during an altercation with his ex-girlfriend’s father, the man assaulted him with a knife and police were contacted. On July 10th, 2019, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victims in the matter.
