Internet Luring Charge in Brockville – Cornwall & Region Police Blotter Aug 28, 2015

BREAK AND ENTER, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Two men have been arrested on August 27th, 2015 and charged with several offences for their alleged involvement into break and enters that occurred in the north end of the city Cornwall during the month of August, 2015. Charges are as follows:

 

Dylan Jarvis, 21 of Cornwall

 

·         Break and enter X2

·         Possession of property obtained by crime X2

·         Breach of Probation X 6

 

Brandon Chenier, 19 of Dalkeith

 

·         Possession of property obtained by crime

·         Breach of probation (failing to keep the peace)

 

Members of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended Montreal and took custody of Jarvis and Chenier as both men had been arrested in Montreal on August 26th, 2015 by Montreal Police on Cornwall’s warrants. Both were charged accordingly and Jarvis was held for a bail hearing while Chenier was released to appear in court at a later date. The Cornwall Community Police Service is advising the investigation is ongoing and is asking the public to come forward with any information in relation to these crimes or any other crimes. THREATS, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Petra Decle, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on August 27th, 2015 and charged with threats and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on August 24th, 2015 the woman threatened to harm a 28-year-old woman known to her and police were contacted to investigate. On August 27th, 2015 the woman was located by police, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE, IDENTITY FRAUD, FRAUD, UTTERING FORGED DOCUMENT

 

Cornwall, ON – Two individuals were arrested on August 28th, 2015 and charged as follows:

Jessica Lapierre, 19 of Cornwall

 

·         Theft of motor vehicle

·         Fraud

Joseph Lepage, 29 of Cornwall

 

·         Theft of motor vehicle

·         Fraud

·         Utter forged document

·         Identity fraud

 

It is alleged on August 23rd, 2015 police responded to a theft of motor vehicle call and an investigation ensued. During their investigation it was learned that the truck had been sold for scrap and on August 23rd, 2015 both individuals were arrested, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Nathalie Beauchamps, 44 of Cornwall was arrested on August 28th, 2015 on the strength of a warrant for failing to attend court and also charged with breaching an undertaking for having consumed alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on August 28th, 2015 police attended Lourdes Avenue for a disturbance and took the intoxicated woman into custody on the strength of the warrant and charged her accordingly. She was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

(PRESCOTT, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (Project “P”) and the Grenville OPP Detachment have arrested and charged a Brockville man following a seventeen month internet luring investigation.

On August 20, 2015 the O.P.P. Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, O.P.P. Technological Crime Unit and Grenville OPP Detachment arrested a man as he attended a local establishment in Prescott where he believed a 13 year old girl was waiting for him. . As a result of this arrest a cellular telephone pertinent to the investigation was seized.

 

On August 20, 2015, police arrested Jason Ronald LINK, 44 years old of Brockville, Ontario and charged him with two counts of Luring a Child on the Internet.

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing on August 28, 2015, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville, Ontario.

The investigation is continuing.
