OPP MEMBERS WITHDRAWN FROM PIKANGIKUM FIRST NATION

MARCH 21, 2021 – As a result of a Band Council Resolution (BCR) from the Chief and Council, all Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members have withdrawn from the Pikangikum First Nation. The ten OPP members returned to their home locations on Friday, March 19, 2021.

Due to allegations of misconduct involving OPP members, the OPP has proactively contacted Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU), which has invoked its mandate. As a result, the OPP cannot comment on those allegations.

Any decision as to whether OPP members return to support community safety in Pikangikum ultimately rests with the Chief and Band Council. In the meantime, Pikangikum Police and First Nations Peacekeepers will be responsible for policing and community safety services until further notice.

Pikangikum First Nation is policed under the Ontario First Nations Policing Agreement (OFNPA) by First Nations constables employed by the community and supported by the OPP. The OFNPA is a tri-partite policing agreement between the signatory communities, the Federal Government and the Provincial Government. The OPP administers the OFNPA, on behalf of the signatories of the agreement.

The OPP has a history of supportive, respectful and positive presence in Pikangikum, including wholehearted support and advocating for stand-alone Indigenous policing services for Indigenous communities. Allegations against our members are taken seriously, and the safety and security of all Ontarians remains our priority.

Cornwall Kitten Killer Corey Dennison Deserves a Much Longer Jail Sentence. By Jamie Gilcig

MAY 28, 2021 – Having personally seen how bad the level of injustice is led by corruption and incompetence in Eastern Ontario, and watched a case with Judge Deborah Kinsella allowing a senior mentally delayed man to be violated by a crown and nearly end up in jail for a alleged crime that should never have made it to our courtroom, it was sadly not surprising to see the Judge Judy pencil case Justice fumbling through a case which will have future impacts on future victims.

The case involves a Corey Dennison who was on or took video with over a dozen kittens and cats with estimates of a much larger total. (over 200) Apparently there was a sexual element to this as well. Experts will tell you that these types of acts can jump to acts against children and adults.

Mr. Dennison is a monster that would seek cats or kittens and then take them home, torturing and then killing them on video. Not in secret. He apparently wanted us to see his handiwork.

To show how badly our system has been in protecting us, Mr. Dennison has lived near children while waiting for trial. While there have been no further charges (that we are aware of) that doesn’t mean that there haven’t been any acts committed while Mr. Dennison has had his freedom waiting for trial.

The crown is seeking a life long ban on pets, 3 years probation, and 18 months of jail time which is utterly shocking.

You, yes YOU! You cheapster you! It’s time to send a viewer donation to info@cornwallfreenews.com via e interac and help support truly independent Canadian media. If you want more coverage and more content you have to pay for it. And if enough of you cheapsters don’t send in viewer donations we’ll be forced to put up a paywall soon. So isn’t it better to donate now than be forced to pay to read all the time later?

Frankly it’s disgusting. We tragically have a system that simply does not protect the public from the likes of Corey Dennison who should not be on the streets ever again, at least without supervision. We need to protect the most vulnerable from predators.

Many years ago society concluded that some people simply weren’t safe to be mixing with the public. Sadly, because of abuses in the system it was decided that these same monsters were best left to be on their own. After all they had rights, right? And our court system appear to have put these monsters rights above those of their many victims.

Maybe Corey Dennison could be treated and cured of his instincts to such barbarity? Maybe Mr. Dennision is a product of systemic abuse in Eastern Ontario that led to such farces as Project Truth?

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post’s poll.

The bottom line is that we live with monsters around us. Far too many monsters, and with a system in place with people like Judge Deborah Kinsella in place, and those that put her there, that’s not going to change anytime soon.

Because the odds are that in a few years we will see Mr. Dennison’s name again in our police blotters and there will be more innocent victims. That’s not justice. Justice should see the victim made “whole” and the chance of the crime happening again reduced as much as possible to zero.

This has simply been an expensive trundling of the Justice machine on the tax payers dime.

As a result of a separate investigation involving an adult victim, the accused has also been charged with one count of Sexual assault, contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code.

271 Everyone who commits a sexual assault is guilty of

  • (a) an indictable offence and is liable to imprisonment for a term of not more than 10 years or, if the complainant is under the age of 16 years, to imprisonment for a term of not more than 14 years and to a minimum punishment of imprisonment for a term of one year; or

The OPP has seen an increase in online offender behaviour, by those persons intent on the sexual exploitation of children. As a result, members of OPP CSEU are actively conducting proactive online luring investigations to aggressively target these offenders.

Parents are reminded to take a proactive approach to help protect their children from online sexual exploitation by speaking with their children regarding Internet safety. Parents and anyone interested in protecting children can find resources to assist them at www.cybertip.ca.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation, or if you have information regarding Internet child exploitation, please contact the OPP at . If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at (TIPS) or 1-800-222-8477″

True to its core corruptness there was no word of these charges in the Cornwall Police Service blotter.

Frankie works out of Century 21 Shield Realty Ltd. according to a webpage and the Toronto Star when not allegedly luring the kiddies. Do Century 21 agents still wear yellow jackets as that would be…well….

No word yet if these charges have improved his chances of running for higher power in SD&G in the upcoming Federal and Provincial elections.

We did not even bother trying to reach out to Frank for this story.

Did Cornwall Future Police Chief Shawna Spowart Get a Free Speeding Pass on 138 by OPP? By Jamie Gilcig

$

JUNE 25, 2021 – Stories like this are hard to write. Generally we only publish based on hard facts, but in the case multiple sources stated that CPS future Police Chief allegedly was caught driving a non CPS vehicle on Highway 138 at over 150KM which is nearly double the legal speed limit and would be grounds for a stunt driving infraction.

“The Penalties of Stunt Driving and Racing in Ontario under the Highway Traffic Act.

Even if a person is not convicted of any of these stunt driving or racing offences, that person will still suffer from a) a 7 day administrative driving suspension, b) a 7 day vehicle impound, and, c) impound fees.

If convicted, those consequences become much worse and will include: a) a very hefty fine ($2,000.00 to $10,000.00), and, b) longer driving suspensions (up to 10 years in some cases). The Highway Traffic Act states, under s.172(2) that:

Every person who [commits the offence of stunting or racing] is guilty of an offence and on conviction is liable to a fine of not less than $2,000 and not more than $10,000 orto imprisonment for a term of not more than six monthsor to both, and in addition his or her driver’s licence may be suspended,

In addition to these crippling sanctions, a person has to worry about the costs associated with reinstating/reissuing licences, victim fine surcharges, impound fees, massive insurance rate hikes (or possible ineligibility), and the inconvenience of not driving for whatever period of time may be imposed.  As inconvenient and costly as it may have been to be charged, it will pale in comparison to the costs and inconvenience of being convicted of these offences.”

Highway 138 has been the scene of some of the worst accidents in the region and is in desperate need of having lanes added. It’s normal limits are 90KM.

It’s understandable that a VIP wouldn’t want these kind of sanctions and the allegations are that she was not in a CPS vehicle. As well a civilian was on a “ride along” in the OPP car and witnessed the incident.

The OPP responded to our question regarding the allegations.

The OPP do not respond to speculation of offences that may or may not have been committed or confirm an individuals employment status.  If the matter was before the court and a public record, the names of individuals could be obtained.

Of course if Ms Spowart was given a free pass there would be nothing before the courts or public records available. These allegations are two fold in that if proven true Ms Spowart should be charged, but also that any OPP officer would give someone blatantly driving that fast a free pass regardless of whom they are.

Sadly the CPS do not respond to this newspaper’s emails, but we did send one to both DC Spowart and Danny Aikman.

Ms Spowart was championed by former Mayor Bernadette Clement who allegedly wanted Chief Aikman pushed out as the force has some of the lowest diversity numbers in the province. She has since abandoned Cornwall to become a Senator for Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government.

It’s time for Doug Ford to Nail Anti Vaxxers Hard. By Jamie Gilcig – #nomorehospitalprotests

$

September 13, 2021 – We don’t live in the wacky US of A. Here in Canada we have socialized medicine. We also have a bunch of disgusting anti vax protesters who are gaining attention by protesting at hospitals. The very places many of them will need as they get sick from Covid as we’re seeing right now in our community.

While I fully support the right to democracy including the right to protest; health orders and public safety all come first.

Sadly that is not the case for the Ford government that has mostly sat on its hands allowing criminals like renegade MPP Randy Hillier to run amok.

How Hillier isn’t in jail is boggling and an insult to Canadians and Ontarians. While he has been charged and ticketed nearly two dozen times he still is walking free making money off of his sign biz and using tax dollars via his office staff to support his illegal campaign.

This is insane. Almost as insane as allowing protests near hospitals during a pandemic straining already strained healthcare workers and patients.

This isn’t rocket science. Any protest, even outdoors should be governed by health protocols. Masks and social distancing required. No masks, no social distancing; the police HAVE to do their jobs.

The cost of an ICU bed can be as much as $25,000 per day. It costs more to do a PCMR test than to vaccinate someone. While it’s easy for politicians to say we’ll put more cash into our healthcare system we simply do not have people available to fill those positions.

Government weakness has led to illegal behavior and insanity like hospital protests because they cause confusion and embolden the criminal element; and there is a strong element of criminal behavior woven into these groups.

We need to protect our hospitals and healthcare workers. We need to protect our communities. We need our government to do their job; as hard as it may be sometimes.

We need Doug Ford to step up or step down. We need immediate legislation to put in place more protections against these thugs.

SEPTEMBER 20, 2021 – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Anti-Rackets Branch (ARB), with assistance from the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), have charged two residents of Toronto, following an investigation into allegations of fraud relating to the Ministry of Education’s Support for Families Program.

In August of 2020, the OPP received a referral from the Ministry of Education in relation to recent allegations of fraud relating to the Support for Families Program. This program was created by the Ontario government and intended to offset the financial burden experienced by families with children at home due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

OPP ARB investigators have been involved in a yearlong criminal investigation of the accused and their activities. The size and scope of this fraud was significantly more complex than first identified.

On September 18, 2021, the OPP Anti-Rackets Branch arrested and charged the following individuals:

Sanjay MADAN, a 56 year old former Ontario Public Service employee, from Toronto with:

  • Breach of Trust, contrary to section 122 of the Criminal Code (x 2)
  • Fraud over $5000.00, contrary to section 380(1) of the Criminal Code (x 2)
  • Money Laundering, contrary to section 462.31(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.00, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

He was held in custody will appear for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice, 60 Queen St. West, Toronto on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.

Shalini MADAN, a 52 year old former Ontario Public Service employee, from Toronto with:

  • Money Laundering, contrary to section 462.31(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, over $5000.00, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, 60 Queen St. West, Toronto on November 10, 2021.

CORNWALL ONTARIO – Morbern VP PATRICK DIEBEL Busted in US & Outed on Video. By Jamie Gilcig

$

OCTOBER 19, 2021 – We get emails. Lots . It’s saddening when yet another horrific Cornwall Ontario story continues the saga of Sexual Child predatory behavior.

To whom it may concern,
Morbern, a multi million dollar textile corporation, with offices and reach all over the world has attempted to cover up the sexual indiscretions of a Cornwall Ontario resident.

Patrick Diebel, the VP of Research and Development for over 7 years, was recently arrested in Hendricks County Indiana USA with the intent to rape a 14 year old whom he contacted over the internet. Based on rumors around the company this is not his first time enlisting sex with a minor while on work trips.

Thankfully this time it was a sting operation that caught him in this attempt. Morbern has previously been provided information by a client that he has attempted to pay for sexual favors to that client , however nothing was done by management John Weaver nor the owner Mark Bloomfield.

Email transcripts recently obtained provide that upper management was aware of his actions. They have even chosen to continue his employment even after the arrest stating they will wait till the investigation is concluded to make their decision.

Meanwhile Patrick Diebel is out on bail and has been released. Please find attached documents and internal memos regarding their stance on this matter. This type of sexual behavior has happened many times within Morbern and is part of their company culture of the “boys club”. Please find attached documents that help to bring light to a large corporation that is complacent not only with sexual predatory efforts but also the attempted rape of a minor.

None of these allegations have been proven in court. We do know that Mr. Diebel was caught in a video sting in the US and charged by US police.

And we have his arrest sheet.

CFN reached out to CEO Mark Bloomfield in Montreal and he suggested we call the company tomorrow morning for a press release, but as Morbern has not provided CFN with previous press releases we decided to move forward after viewing the video above.

There are also the allegations that officials at Morbern have covered up issues related to Mr. Diebel going back to July.

Mr. Diebel was suspended from his position at Morbern which he’s had since 2014 according to his linked in profile page. He is out on bail and it appears has not been charged in Canada at this point.

We will be updating this story as more information becomes available.

OCTOBER 27, 2021 – It’s amazing how difficult it can be to get basic information as a journalist in this day and age. Or maybe it’s just with certain law enforcement agencies or court houses?

CFN finally confirmed today that South Glengarry Mayor Frank Prevost was charged again.

“Prevost was arrested and released on an undertaking on Oct 16th 2021 – one charge – fail to comply with release order – court date set for Dec 1, 2021 Alexandria court house.”

This isn’t the first time ol Franky allegedly violated his conditions.

The Corrupt real estate agent & Politician was first outed by CFN when he was charged with sexual assault and child luring back in June.

We will be updating as this evolves and you can reach us via info@cornwallfreenews.com

SIU Gives Cornwall Police Free Pass After Man Tasered & Breaks Jaw During July 4th Incident on Bedford.

NOVEMBER 1, 2021 – The Director of the Special Investigations Unit, Joseph Martino, has found no reasonable grounds to believe that a Cornwall Police Service officer committed a criminal offence in connection with a 23-year-old man seriously injured in the course of his arrest last July.
On July 4, 2021, officers responded to a residence on Bedford Street in connection with a domestic disturbance call. When police arrived, the man approached officers despite being told several times to stop. One of the officers discharged his CEW (CEW) at the man. As a result, the man became immobilized and fell face-first on the pavement. Officers then arrested him before calling an ambulance.

The man was taken to hospital where he was diagnosed with fractures of the jaw and broken teeth.

While Director Martino accepted that the man’s serious injuries were incurred when he fell forward having been immobilized by the CEW discharge, he found no reasonable grounds to believe those injuries were the result of unlawful force by the subject official.  Accordingly, there is no basis for proceeding with criminal charges in this case, and the file has been closed.

Understanding NHL Culture re KYLE BEACH & Aaron Rodgers is a Scumbag HOCKEY CRUNCH by Jamie Gilcig

November 8, 2021 – I was mulling whether to write about the Kyle Beach NHL Sex Scandal or not. After all, what could I add? Well a lot, but did I want to? And then the Aaron Rodgers getting Covid-19 while breaking NFL protocols and putting others at risk happened.

Who you are many times plays a big role in a result. Stars get treated differently whether they are the good guys or bad guys.

Kyle Beach is a brute. He’s fought the NHL’s toughest of the tough in Tom Wilson. He’s fought Zack Kassian & Milan Lucic. He’s fought Radko Gudas. ( I heart Radko) yet, but Kyle’s own testimony in the very light and poor quality “Independent” investigation was that a wee twerp sexually assaulted him with threats of a Cubs mini baseball bat.

NHL players are taught young to stand up for their team mates, especially enforcer tough guy types which Kyle was supposed to be. He didn’t just fight, he racked up penalty minutes. He’s a big physical guy who could snap Brad Aldrich in two. They also are expected to stand up for themselves.

So why didn’t he? How many boys & girls have been sexually assaulted who simply pushed back on their aggressor? Looking backwards is easy, but you have to look at each persons role. And you have to consider what those in hockey hearing of the incident, most of whom are in hockey culture would react to this story too.

Can one blame his own teammates for verbal abuse? The messaging during the process was such.

Kyle’s incident was brought forward.

The team investigated and gave Aldrich a chance to resign and avoid punishment which was utterly wrong, frankly illegal, and led to further damage at the hands of a predator. Beach was most likely not Aldrich’s first victim.

For whatever reason the team allowed Aldrich to stay until after the cup run and to celebrate it. For whatever reason the league and NHLPA ducked it too contrary to the legally prepared lawyer speak all have babbled to media.

Frankly if all those involved were not aware then they weren’t doing their jobs from the Hawks to the NHL, and to the NHLPA.

Clearly the team focused on winning the cup first and I can tell you that’s a good thing. That’s why they were all there, but that being said both Kyle and Aldrich should’ve been excluded by the team for the run. Not left to be within scrapping distance.

According to reports the abuse by Kyle’s teammates didn’t start until training camp the next season.

Again, what they saw was Aldrich leave without being punished. They heard the rumblings of the story, but would any NHLer really support the story of a twerp assaulting a power forward? Not really.

Did the team dump Beach? No, he was back, but it didn’t work out and sadly Kyle got hurt the year after and faded like many players do for various reasons. Not everyone makes it.

Now this isn’t about victim shaming. Nobody can live in the moments that Beach did, and we can only go by what we’ve read or watched. There could be issues in Kyle’s past, but if Beach had simply pushed off Aldrich would we all be discussing this now?

If Beach had beat Aldrich, and put him in the hospital I have a hunch the team and management would’ve reacted much differently; most likely publicly supporting him and his career path and life might have been very different.

Again, that’s not blame; just how things work. It’s not a judgement of right or wrong. Nobody should be assaulted, sexually or not. But choices are made and for whatever reason Kyle made his choices and Chicago management made theirs, as did the NHL & the NHLPA.

The problem is that Kyle has paid the price for his, and all those involved have not been held accountable.

The Commish is hired by the owners including the Hawks owner. He represents them; not the league overall. The report was paid for by the Hawks. It was not mandatory. Duncan Keith, who had the same agent as Beach, declined to be interviewed. You generally can’t get as truthful a result if people were not questioned.

Why wasn’t Gary Bettman interviewed for the report?

Clearly Chicago knew about the incident and lied. A $2M fine? Puh lease. $25M and loss of draft picks should be the penalty to ownership.

All those connected to the cover up, and frankly the cover up is more concerning than the act in this writer’s opinion, (again, not to belittle the seriousness of the incident) should be banned from Hockey period. That means all the men in that room who stayed silent and supported the decision. Those same men who didn’t speak out in a decades time with most denying facts that the report clearly showed them to be lying about. They didn’t enforce the sexual assault policies in place at the time. This includes Donald Fehr and anyone in the NHLPA that knew about the Beach incident and didn’t take action.

As for Kyle’s Hawk teammates. Frankly I give them a free pass; even Duncan Keith. The signals from management and the strangeness of the story put their reaction in play. Essentially they didn’t want Kyle for a teammate. Again, not a right or wrong issue, but a team is a team, not individuals. At least good teams.

At the end of the day hockey is a cultural entertainment where little boys get paid lots of money to play a little boys game. It’s rough. It’s about winning. It’s what the fans pay for.

At the end of the day if Hockey doesn’t clean house and resolve this they will lose fans and interest for decades and they already have enough problems for expanding to the point where most of the 32 teams can’t put together two strong lines or a full 6 man core.

Now if Kyle Beach was Aaron Rodgers would the instance be handled the same way? Nope. Star franchise players mean a lot more to ownership and management.

Rodgers, an antivaxxer, violated the rules agreed upon by the players union and the league. LINK

For unvaxxed #covidiots like Mr. Rodgers the rules are pretty clear.

  • Unvaccinated individuals must be tested for COVID every day at the team facility. If a player misses even one day of testing, they will be required to test negative for COVID for five straight days before re-entering the facility. That’s what happened to Cam Newton before the final week of the Patriots’ preseason.
  • Unvaccinated free agents must also test negative for five consecutive days before being allowed to enter a team facility.
  • Unvaccinated players must wear masks at all times in the facility. They cannot gather in groups larger than three players and on the road “are prohibited from congregating, visiting or mingling with individuals outside of the traveling party once they have arrived in the game city.”
  • Unvaccinated individuals are subject to fines if they break COVID protocols. This can include anything from failing to wear a mask in the facility or going to an indoor concert or house party with more than 15 people.

As we know the unvaxxed can spread the virus more than those who have been vaxxed . Clearly Rodgers was violating the rules and the team knew.

The NFL has to take action against the team and the player. Will they? Will it send a loud enough message? Again, to this writer what Rodgers did is akin to someone having unprotected sex without disclosing they have aids. They knowingly broke the rules or law, and in Rodgers case he put his teammates and staff at risk.

When someone does that they deserve the strongest penalty possible. Now that’s not “woke” speak. That’s putting your team and franchise at risk knowingly. Frankly Rodgers should be suspended for the rest of this season and the team fined. What he did was selfish and ignorant and if he was a rookie receiver probably wouldn’t have been tolerated.

I doubt that this will happen; anymore than I doubted any true accountability in the Kyle Beach case other than some cheques written to settle the outstanding cases.

Frankly a few more names need to be removed from Lord Stanley’s Cup. Brad Aldrich would not have been able to injure others if those in charge had done their jobs properly. Many profited by staying in the jobs for over a decade after the incident.

Hockey needs to take action.
