Boring SD&G #OPP Police Blotter for April 15, 2019 w No Calls for Service Numbers.

IMPAIRED BY DRUG

(SOUTH STORMONT,ON) – On April 12, 2019 at approximately 9:16am, a Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer intercepted a vehicle following a traffic complaint on Highway 401, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that the adult male driver was under the influence of a drug.

 The male refused to complete the drug recognition evaluation upon request from police.

Amir GHALY (26) of Laval, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by a Drug

– Failure or refusal to comply with demand

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on April 25, 2019.  

ASSAULT WITH WEAPON – DOMESTIC

(NORTH DUNDAS,ON) – On April 12, 2019 at approximately 10:08am Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in North Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that an adult male had assaulted his common-law wife with a weapon and damaged property within the home. The male was also in contravention of previous release conditions.

A 41-year-old male of North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault

– Assault with a weapon

– Mischief

– Fail to comply with a Recognizance

He was held in custody (Bail) and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(SD&G) – On April 12, 2019 Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement in SD&G and intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicles were impounded and their driver’s permits seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy and were charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act). 

– April 12, 2019- 5:26pm (South Dundas); vehicle stopped traveling 159km/h (100km/h zone) (Highway 401). Male (18) driver from Elora, Ontario.

– April 12, 2019- 6:50pm (South Dundas); vehicle stopped traveling 152km/h (100km/h zone) (Highway 401). Male (23) driver from South Dundas, Ontario.

ASSAULT – DOMESTIC  

(SOUTH DUNDAS,ON) – On April 13, 2019 at approximately 7:51pm Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in South Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that an adult female had assaulted her ex- common-law husband. Both parties were also in contravention of previous release conditions (Not to communicate with one another).

A 42 -year-old male of South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to comply with conditions of a Undertaking (2 counts)

– Fail to comply with conditions of a Probation order (3 counts)

A 48 -year-old female of Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to comply with conditions of a Recognizance (3 counts)

– Assault

Both were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on April 30, 2019.

THEFT UNDER, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Laurel Kubeckie, 35 of Cornwall was arrested on April 15th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000 X3 and breach of Undertaking X3 for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the woman removed merchandise from local merchants on three separate occasions making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the stores. Police were contacted and investigations ensued. On April 15th, 2019 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matters. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

SEXUAL ASSAULT, SEXUAL INTERFERENCE, INVITATION TO SEXUAL TOUCHING

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 15th, 2019 and charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching. It is alleged in May, 2018 the man sexually assaulted his girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. On April 15th, 2019 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 21st, 2019. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on April 15th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman assaulted her boyfriend in March, 2019 and a warrant was obtained for her arrest. On April 15th, 2019 the woman was spotted by a member of the Cornwall Police Service. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on May 21st, 2019. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

Alexandria Youth Caught Breaking Into School in Cornwall #CCPS 041719

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Alexandria youth was arrested on April 16th, 2019 and charged with break and enter. It is alleged on the evening of April 13th, 2019, the youth entered a local school without permission, caused damage to the property, and removed a laptop. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 16th, 2019, the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREAK AND ENTER, THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Scott Best, 48, of Cornwall was arrested on April 16th, 2019 and charged with break and enter, theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 8th, 2019, the man forced his way into a Bryden Avenue residence, belonging to someone unknown to him, causing damage to the door. It is further alleged while at the hospital on April 16th, 2019, the man removed medical supplies and police were contacted to investigate. On April 16th, 2019, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly , and held for a bail hearing.

UPDATE #1 – RUSSELL COUNTY OPP LAYS CHARGES FOR HISTORICAL SEXUAL ASSAULTS

Two more accused

(ROCKLAND, ON) – Between January 31 and March 13, 2019, officers from the Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit arrested four males from the same family on sexual related offences. Alleged incidents date to between 1974 and 1991.

The Russell County OPP Crime Unit has continued its investigation, which lead to the arrest of two more accused.

A 57 year-old male from Montague Township, Ontario was charged with:

• Young Person Charged (YPC) Indecent Assault on Male CC 156;

• Indecent Assault on Male CC 156;

• Gross Indecency CC 157 (Two counts);

• Sexual Assault CC 246.1 and

• YPC Gross Indecency CC 157

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on April 25, 2019.

A 58 year-old male from Quyon, Quebec was charged with:

• Indecent Assault on a Male CC 156;

• Acts of Gross Indecency CC 157 (Two counts);

• Sexual Assault CC 246.1;

• YPC Indecent Assault on a Male CC 156 and

• YPC Acts of Gross Indecency CC 157

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on May 9 and 15, 2019.

The identities of the accused cannot be released in order to protect the identities of the victims. Some of the accused are also protected under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) due to the historic nature of the allegations.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 17th, 2019 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged the man repeatedly contacted his ex-girlfriend after being warned not to and an investigation ensued. On April 17th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

Cornwall, ON – Josie Gougeon-Barkley, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on April 17th, 2019 and charged with break and enter, as well as breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the woman entered a place of worship and damaged multiple items inside, as well as attempted to remove a safe. Police were contacted and located the woman. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 21st, 2019.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 17th, 2019 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged the man contacted his ex-girlfriend on April 12th, 2019, despite being warned by police. On April 17th, 2019, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 30th, 2019. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 62-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 17th, 2019 and charged with two counts of breach of undertaking for contacting his ex-girlfriend and being within 10 metres of her. It is alleged on April 5th, 2019, the man called his ex-girlfriend and further attended her residence, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. On April 17th, 2019, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Shaine Robertson, 32, of Cornwall was arrested on April 18th, 2019 and charged with mischief under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 14th, 2019, the man was in the custody of another police agency and was being transported from the courthouse, at which time he damaged a camera in the vehicle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 18th, 2019, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended the courthouse as the man was in custody on another unrelated matter. He was charged accordingly and remained in custody to await a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Malinda Rochon, 38, of Cornwall was arrested on April 18th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on March 12th, 2019, the woman failed to attend court for a threats offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On April 18th, 2019, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 18th, 2019 and charged with criminal harassment, threats, and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man repeatedly contacted his ex-girlfriend after being warned not to, and further made threats to harm her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 18th, 2019, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT UNDER $5000, OBSTRUCT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Christopher Motard, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on April 18th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000, obstruct, as well as breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 18th, 2019, the man entered a Ninth Street store and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man identified himself as someone else. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 23rd, 2019.

POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING COCAINE, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

Cornwall, ON – As a result of an ongoing investigation by the CPS Street Crime Unit, Jamie Campeau, 27, of Cornwall, was arrested on April 18th, 2019 and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged the man was in possession of a quantity of cocaine and Canadian currency on April 18th, 2019 and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 23rd, 2019.

BREAK AND ENTER, DISGUISE WITH INTENT, DRIVE WHILE PROHIBITED, POSSESSION OF A PROHIBITED DEVICE FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Marcel Gauvreau, 48, of Cornwall was arrested on April 19th, 2019 and charged with the following:

-Break and enter
-Disguise with intent
-Drive while prohibited
-Possession of a prohibited device for a dangerous purpose
-Breach of probation for failing to keep the peace x 2

It is alleged on February 22nd, 2019, the man forced his way into a Second Street convenience store, damaged a window and removed a cash box, all while concealing his identity. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 19th, 2019, the man was located during a traffic stop, at which time he was operating a motor vehicle, despite being prohibited from doing so. He was taken into custody, and found to be in possession of brass knuckles. He was charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Michael Isaac, 46, of Cornwall was arrested on April 19th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on March 7th, 2019, the man entered a Ninth Street store and removed a quantity of meat, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 19th, 2019, police located the man, at which time he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 23rd, 2019.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Valerie Bancroft, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on April 19th, 2019 and charged with assault. It is alleged the woman struck a man known to her on April 10th, 2019 and police were contacted to investigate. On April 19th, 2019, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 23rd, 2019.

IMPAIRED, REFUSAL

Cornwall, ON – Thineshkumar Nagarajah, 37, of Cornwall was arrested on April 20th, 2019 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and refusal. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol when his car struck a building in the area of Sydney Street and Ninth Street. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man failed to provide a proper sample of his breath upon demand. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 9th, 2019.

Cornwall, ON – Keven Bissonnette, 30, of Cornwall was arrested on April 20th, 2019 and charged with breach of undertaking for contacting a woman known to him and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 13th, 2019, the man entered a business where the woman was known to be and failed to leave the store, despite his conditions. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 20th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 21st, 2019.

DANGEROUS OPERATION CAUSING BODILY HARM

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 20th, 2019 and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm. It is alleged on April 16th, 2019, the youth was operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner in the area of Cumberland Street and Cline Avenue, where the vehicle subsequently rolled onto its roof. One passenger attended the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. On April 20th, 2019, the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 21st, 2019 and charged with two counts of breach of recognizance for contacting his girlfriend and being anywhere she is. It is alleged on April 19th, 2019, police responded to a domestic disturbance and found the man in the company of his girlfriend, despite his conditions. On April 21st, 2019, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 21st, 2019 and charged with domestic assault and mischief under $5000. It is alleged during an argument with his common-law-wife on April 19th, 2019, the man assaulted her and damaged her phone. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 21st, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on May 28th, 2019. DOMESTIC ASSAULT, ASSAULT, UNLAWFULLY IN A DWELLING, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 21st, 2019 and charged with domestic assault, assault, unlawfully in a dwelling and mischief under $5000. It is alleged on April 21st, 2019, the man entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence without permission and assaulted her, as well as a man known to him. It is further alleged the man damaged the vehicle belonging to the man known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Joshua Watson, 33, of Cornwall was arrested on April 21st, 2019 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, when his car struck a guardrail in the area of Boundary Road and Montreal Road. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 7th, 2019.

FRAUD UNDER $5000, UTTER FORGED DOCUMENT

Cornwall, ON – Samantha Genge-Baliski, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on April 22nd, 2019 and charged with fraud under $5000 and utter forged document. It is alleged the woman deposited a stolen check in her bank account on January 26th, 2019 and police were contacted to investigate. On April 22nd, 2019, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 23rd, 2019.

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Marc Dumond, 54, and Sherry Burson, 51, both of Cornwall were arrested on April 23rd, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000. Marc Dumond was also charged with breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 20th, 2019, the man and woman attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as they left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 23rd, 2019, both were taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was held for a bail hearing and the woman was released to appear in court on May 21st, 2019.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Vivyen Morin, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on April 23rd, 2019 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman assaulted a woman known to her using a bottle and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On April 23rd, 2019, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 21st, 2019.

UNLAWFUL USE OF CREDIT CARD, THEFT OF CREDIT CARD, FRAUD UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Lynne Ladouceur, 49, of Cornwall, was arrested on April 23rd, 2019 and charged with the following:

• Fraud under $5000
• Unlawful use of credit card
• Theft of credit card
• Breach of probation for failing to keep the peace

It is alleged on April 21st, 2019, the woman took a credit card that did not belong to her and used it at a Second Street convenience store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 23rd, 2019, she taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 21st, 2019.

FAIL TO ATTEND FOR PRINTS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Gisele Dumond, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on April 23rd, 2019 and charged with failing to attend for prints and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the woman failed to attend for prints on April 8th, 2019 and an investigation ensued. On April 23rd, 2019, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 21st, 2019.

UNLAWFUL USE OF CREDIT CARD, THEFT OF CREDIT CARD, FRAUD UNDER $5000, BREACH, POSSESSION OF COUNTERFEIT MONEY, THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – John Pecore, 37, of Cornwall, was arrested on April 23rd, 2019 and charged with the following:

• Fraud under $5000 x 6
• Unlawful use of credit card x 6
• Theft of credit card
• Breach of probation for failing to keep the peace x 7
• Theft under $5000
• Possession of counterfeit money

It is alleged on April 13th, 2019, the man took a credit card that did not belong to him and used it at six local businesses. It is further alleged on April 23rd, 2019, the man removed various documents from a parked vehicle in the area of Second Street East and Prince Arthur Street and police were contacted to investigate. Police located the man a short time later and took him into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of a counterfeit $100 USD bill. The man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – Jonathan Deruchie, 45, of Cornwall was arrested on April 24th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000 x 4, as well as breach of undertaking for failing to notify a change of address and failing to keep the peace. He was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged between March 27th, 2019 and April 24th, 2019, the man attended 4 local businesses and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the stores. Police were contacted and located the man on April 24th, 2019. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER $5000 X 3, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Justin Rainey, 30, of Cornwall was arrested on April 24th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000 x 3, as well as breach of probation for to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 26th, 2019 the man attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. It is further alleged on April 24th, 2019, the man also attended two Second Street businesses, and again removed merchandise without making any attempt to pay for the items as he left both of the stores. Police were contacted and located the man shortly thereafter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on May 30th, 2019.

DOMESTIC BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on April 25th, 2019 and charged with three counts of breach of undertaking for being within 50 metres of her boyfriend’s residence, failing to notify a change of address to police, and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the woman attended her boyfriend’s residence on April 25th, 2019, despite her conditions, and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANTS, ROBBERY, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Kyle Delorme, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on April 25th, 2019 on the strength of multiple warrants. He was also charged with robbery and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 2nd, 2019, the man struck someone known to him and took his watch without permission and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The man further breached his probation and an additional warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 25th, 2019, police were called to investigate a robbery at a Second Street convenience store, where the man is alleged to have demanded money from the clerk and fled after taking several lottery tickets. Police located the man a short time later. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.

FRAUD UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Jason Larose, 41, of Cornwall was arrested on April 25th, 2019 and charged with fraud under $5000. Charges laid against gymnastic instructor for sex related offences

 (Ottawa) –Yesterday, Ottawa Police Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit (SACA) laid charges of Sexual Assault and Sexual Interference against a 27 year old Ottawa man, Klyne PITPITUNGE.

The charges stem from incidents that occurred in March and April 2019, while the accused was employed as a Gymnastics coach/instructor.  The locations he has worked at are at the 2700 block of Lancaster Road, 1100 block of Morrison Drive, and 500 block of Lacolle Way.  He was suspended from coaching at the start of this investigation. 

PITPITUNGE will be in show cause court today. 

S.A.C.A. continues the investigation and are concerned there could be more victims. 

“The Ottawa Police will respect a victim’s wishes to pursue or not pursue the matter before the courts.”  “The reporting of these incidents by victims to police is key for investigators to identify suspects and determine crime trends.”

Cornwall, ON – Leanne Ducharme, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on April 26th, 2019 and charged with care and control of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged while in the area of Pitt Street and Wellington Street, the woman was found to be in care and control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 23rd, 2019.

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 26th, 2019 and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged the youth “keyed” a motor vehicle belonging to a woman known to her and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Cornwall, ON – Christopher Motard, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on April 27th, 2019 and charged with break and enter, theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man entered an Emma Avenue residence, without permission, and took a quantity of cash from a man unknown to him before fleeing the area. Police were contacted and located the man a short time later. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man, both of Cornwall, were arrested on April 28th, 2019 and each charged with domestic assault and mischief under $5000. It is alleged during an argument, the man and woman both struck each other while intoxicated. It is further alleged the woman damaged the man’s electronic gaming console and the man damaged a television in the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, both were taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Their names were not released as it would identify the victims in the matter.

Cornwall, ON – Christopher Motard, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on April 26th, 2019 and charged with fraud under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 26th, 2019, the man advertised and accepted payment for a hot tub that was not for sale. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 29th, 2019, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended the courthouse as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. He was charged accordingly and remained in custody to await a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – Coty Casselman, 23, of Cornwall was arrested on April 29th, 2019 and charged with failing to attend for prints. It is alleged the man failed to attend for prints on April 8th, 2019 and an investigation ensued. On April 29th, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 30th, 2019.

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Williamstown woman was arrested on April 29th, 2019 and charged with the following:

• Fraud under $5000 x 7
• Possession of property obtained by crime
• Possession of a stolen credit card x 5
• Theft under $5000 x 2
• Possession of methamphetamine
• Possession of morphine
• Breach of youth probation for failing to keep the peace, possessing unlawful drugs, possessing intoxicating substances, and attending a Brookdale Avenue business
• Breach of probation for failing to keep the peace
• Breach of undertaking for being outside of her residence while intoxicated

It is alleged between March 16-17, 2019, the woman made multiple purchases using a stolen credit card at a Marlborough Street business, and further deposited a stolen cheque into her bank account. During the month of April, the woman also attended businesses on Ninth Street and Brookdale Avenue and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the stores. On April 29th, 2019, police located the intoxicated woman at a Second Street business, at which time she was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a quantity of morphine and methamphetamine. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not release as the conditions stem from when she was a youth and is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Singh Jasmeet, 23, of Cornwall was arrested on April 29th, 2019 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Lochiel Street and Robin Court and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 21st, 2019.

MISCHIEF OVER $5000, FALSE FIRE ALARM, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Sunny Ashby, 19, of Cornwall was arrested on April 29th, 2019 and charged with mischief over $5000, false fire alarm, as well as breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man attended a McConnell Avenue business and activated the fire alarm, despite no fire, which resulted in the Fire Department attending. The man also used a fire extinguisher and threw it at a window, causing the window to break. Further, the man left a faucet running, resulting it damages to the building. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 30th, 2019.

Cornwall, ON – On May 2nd, 2019 shortly after 7:00 pm, the Cornwall Police Service (CPS) responded to an aggravated assault call in the area of 100 Water Street, commonly known as the Cornwall Bandshell in Lamoureux Park.

It is alleged an altercation took place where a 16-year-old youth assaulted a 15-year-old youth using a knife. The 15-year-old victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and is in stable condition.

The 16-year-old male was arrested shortly thereafter and charged with the following:
• Aggravated assault
• Assault with a weapon
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Carry a concealed weapon

The youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and is being held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

(NORTH DUNDAS,ON) On April 16, 2019 at approximately 2:04pm Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on Main Street in Winchester, Ontario, the male fled the scene and was not located.

On May 3, 2019, members of the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), K9 Unit and SD&G OPP officers executed a Criminal Code Search Warrant at a property on Thompson Road, North Dundas Township.

STOLEN TRUCK

(SOUTH GLENGARRY,ON) – On May 4, 2019 at approximately 1:38pm, Stormont Dundas &Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a truck being taken from a property on County Road 19, South Glengarry Township.

Investigation indicated that sometime overnight unknown individuals attended and removed a 2011 grey Chevrolet Silverado with Ontario plate AW75343.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(SD&G) – On May 3-5, 2019 Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement in SD&G and intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 3rd, 2019 and charged with possession of psilocybin (mushrooms). OPP CHARGES SUSPENDED LAWYER WITH FRAUD

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)has charged a former real estate lawyer with two counts of fraud following an investigation into the misappropriation of money from his law firm’s trust account.

On Sunday May 5, 2019 members of the OPP’s Anti-Rackets Branch arrested and charged 37-year-old Stuart Cameron MURRAY of Kitchener with two counts of Fraud Over $5000. 

He previously operated a practice named “Mullun Law” with office locations throughout Ontario; including Kitchener, Ottawa, Toronto, Oakville, and Sudbury. 

Losses attributed to 49 victims in this case are believed to total over $1.5 million.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa on June 12, 2019 to answer to the charges.

Cornwall, ON – A 50-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 7th, 2019 on the strength of multiple warrants. He was also charged with possession of methamphetamine and breach of undertaking for contacting and being within 100 metres of his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged from February to April, the man fraudulently acquired money from people he did not know on multiple occasions and failed to attend court for fraud charges on April 29th, 2019. It is further alleged on May 1st, 2019, the man took his ex-girlfriend’s motor vehicle without permission and warrants were issued for his arrest. On May 7th, 2019 police located the man in breach of his conditions. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and found to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING KETAMINE, METHAMPHETAMINE & HYDROMORPHONE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – As a result of an ongoing investigation by the CPS Street Crime Unit, Ryan Royer, 26, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 7th, 2019 and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking x 3 for ketamine, methamphetamine and hydromorphone. He was also charged with breach of probation for possessing unlawful drugs and failing to keep the peace, as well as breach of recognizance for possessing unlawful drugs and drug paraphernalia. It is alleged during a traffic stop on May 7th, 2019, the man was in possession of a quantity of ketamine, methamphetamine, and hydromorphone, as well as drug paraphernalia. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – Chantal Ceasor, 46, of Martintown was arrested on May 7th, 2019 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 24th, 2019, the woman attended a Thirteenth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the item as she left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 7th, 2019, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on June 4th, 2019.

Cornwall, ON – Bryan Devarennes, 50, of Cornwall was arrested on May 7th, 2019 on the strength of a warrant for failing to attend court and for a theft offence. He was also charged with the following:

• Break and enter
• Mischief under $5000
• Trespassing at night x 4
• Theft under $5000 x 2
• Possession of property obtained by crime
• Resist arrest
• Breach of probation for failing to keep the peace
• Breach of recognizance for failing to remain in his residence

It is alleged during the night of May 7th, 2019, the man entered a Second Street West apartment building without permission, damaged a lock, and removed a camera and a lamp. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A short time later, police located the man who had allegedly entered vehicles without permission in the area of Pine Lane and Water Street, and removed various items from the vehicles. The man was taken into custody after a brief struggle. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
