POSSESSION OF BREAK IN TOOLS, BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, ON – Neil Foster, 39 of Napanee and Chantelle Johnston, 33 of Kingston were arrested on January 31st, 2018 and charged with break and enter and possession of break in tools. Foster was also charged with breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on December 2nd, 2017 they committed a break and enter at a local gas bar and police were contacted to investigate. On January 31st, 2018 Foster was taken into custody at the Cornwall Courthouse while Johnston attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. Both were charged accordingly and held for bail hearings.



BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 31st, 2018 and charged with breach of recognizance for being outside his residence, communicating with a certain person and being within 100 meters of that person. It is alleged throughout the month of December, 2017 the man breached his conditions by attending his ex-girlfriend’s residence and police were contacted to investigate. On January 31st, 2018 the man was located by police, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Williamstown man was arrested on January 31st, 2018 and charged with breach of probation for communicating with his ex-girlfriend and failing to keep the peace. He was also charged with breach of a court order for communicating with her. It is alleged the man communicated with his ex-girlfriend during the month of January, 2018 and police were contacted to investigate. On January 31st, 2018 the man who was in custody on other charges was advised of the additional charges and he remained in custody pending a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 31st, 2018 on the strength of a committal warrant. It is alleged the man failed to pay child support and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 31st, 2018 the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

4 Men Charged In Ottawa Drug Deal 2 Guns Seized – Feb 1, 2018

Two handguns seized, four men charged with drug trafficking

(Ottawa) – Four men have been charged with weapons and drug offences after Ottawa Police Drug officers conducted a high-risk takedown of a vehicle last evening in the city’s west end.

At about 8 pm, officers observed drug transactions taking place from a vehicle in the area of Tillbury Avenue, near Churchill Avenue, and moved in to arrest the four occupants.

All four suspects fled. After a brief foot pursuit, three of the suspects were arrested without incident, however, the fourth suspect resisted and a struggle ensued before he was taken into custody.

When searched, one of the suspects was found in possession of crack cocaine, marihuana and a loaded semi-automatic handgun.



Another loaded gun was located under the front passenger seat in the vehicle. The second gun has been traced to a break-in December 3, 2017 in Gatineau, where several firearms were stolen.

WARRANTS, THEFT UNDER, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Alvin Cann, 41 of Cornwall was arrested on February 1st, 2018 on the strength of several warrants. He was also charged with theft under $5000 and breach of three probation orders for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 1st, 2018 the man took a sum of money from a woman without her permission and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was located at a local hotel, taken into custody and charged accordingly. Several outstanding warrants were also executed and Cann was subsequently held for a bail hearing.



THEFT UNDER, POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Dustin Bedding, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on February 1st, 2018 and charged with theft under $5000, possession of speed and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 1st, 2018 the man entered a Ninth Street store and removed merchandise making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. He was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a quantity of speed. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 20th, 2018.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Gerald McDonagh, 67 of Huntingdon, QC was arrested on February 1st, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged in October and November, 2017 the man was responsible for two gas drive offs and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation a warrant was obtained for his arrest. On February 1st, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on March 15th, 2018.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Jesse Vallieres, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on February 2nd, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to report a change of address in December, 2017 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 2nd, 2018 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended Smith Falls as Smiths Falls Police had the man in custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. He was transported to Cornwall and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Justin Rainey, 29 of Cornwall was arrested on February 2nd, 2018 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on February 2nd, 2018 the man removed merchandise from a store on Second Street East making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and located the man a short distance away. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 13th, 2018.

DANGEROUS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

Cornwall, ON – Jamie Lafave, 19 of Long Sault and two 17-year-old Cornwall youths were arrested and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. It is alleged on September 9th, 2017 Lafave was operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner when he was towing a sofa with passengers in the area of Second Street and Saunders Drive. All three were taken into custody, charged accordingly for their involvement and released to appear in court at a later date. The names of the two youths were not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

TAKE MOTOR VEHICLE WITHOUT CONSENT, POSSESSION OF COCAINE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Samantha Derouchie, 25 of Cornwall was arrested on February 3rd, 2018 and charged with take motor vehicle without consent, possession of cocaine and breach of probation for being in possession of cocaine and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 2nd, 2018 the woman took a motor vehicle without permission and police were contacted to investigate. In the early morning hours of February 3rd, 2018 the woman was located by police, taken into custody and found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.


ASSAULT, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 4th, 2018 and charged with assault and threats. It is alleged during an argument on February 4th, 2018 the man assaulted his common-law wife and threatened to harm her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT, DANGEROUS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, FAIL TO REMAIN AT THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT.

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Kanata man was arrested on February 4th, 2018 and charged with assault, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and fail to remain at the scene of an accident. It is alleged during an argument on February 3rd, 2018 the man assaulted his girlfriend and her son. He then drove his pickup in a dangerous manner striking another vehicle as he left the area. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 4th, 2018 the man was located by police, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Robert MacDonald, 18 of Cornwall was arrested on February 4th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to report as directed and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 4th,, 2018 the man was located by police, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on March 1st, 2018.

OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Amy Benedict, 27 of Akwesasne was arrested on February 5th, 2018 and charged with over 80. It is alleged on February 5th, 2018 the woman was driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Pitt Street and Fifth Street. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 15th, 2018.

There were 134 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in over the weekend (8am Friday to 8am Monday morning).

One person was arrested on warrant.

Officers Conduct High-Risk Take Down of Man Reported to Have Firearm

A 20-year-old local man was arrested after police received information he was in possession of a handgun and suspected to be high on drugs.

On February 7, 2018 at approximately 9:20 a.m. police responded to the area of Mack Street and Albert Street and located the accused inside a vehicle. For officer and public safety, a high-risk takedown was performed and the accused was safely removed from the vehicle and arrested.

A firearm was located inside the vehicle which was later determined to be a replica Beretta BB gun. During a search officers found a machete in the accused backpack and a quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine in the vehicle.

The accused was taken to the hospital and once medically cleared he was transported to police headquarters and held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The accused was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Man Charged After Police Investigate 30-year-old Sexual Assault Incident

A 73-year-old Ottawa man has been arrested after the Kingston Police Sexual Assault Unit began investigating him for sexual assaults that occurred over 30 years ago.

The investigation began in November 2017 when the victim came forward to report incidents that occurred between 1985 and 1986. During that time the victim was under the age of 10 and had been recruited by the accused to join their Kingston church choir. For approximately one year the victim received private singing lessons from the accused, during which time he was sexually assaulted. In the summer of 1986 the victim attended a choir camp with the accused, during which time the accused exposed himself to the victim and sexually assaulted him.

On February 2, 2018 the accused turned himself in at police headquarters. The accused was arrested and later released on conditions with a future court date.

The accused was charged with gross indecency, and two counts of sexual assault.

Kingston Police want to let victims of sexual assault know that it is their choice to disclose the incident to police. If you have been sexually assaulted or abused and are uncertain what to do, please attend the hospital and see the caring and compassionate staff at the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence clinic (SADV). The staff can help you with counselling and coping strategies in addition to providing testing for sexually transmitted diseases and providing access to HIV medication. If you are willing the staff will also complete the sexual assault evidence kit. Evidence can be collected up to twelve days following a sexual assault. Depending on the circumstances it may be possible for DNA evidence to be obtained from clothing after it has been washed. Your confidentiality is guaranteed and police will only be contacted by the hospital if you request it at the time. Cornwall Woman Charged Assaulting Boyfriend with Dustpan – 020818

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on February 7th, 2018 and charged with assault, assault with a weapon, mischief and breach of recognizance being outside her residence without her surety. It is alleged during an argument on February 7th, 2018 the woman assaulted her boyfriend, struck him with a dust pan and damaged some of his property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

Police Seeking Driver who Fled after Causing a 3 Car Collision

On February 8, 2018 at approximately 3:00 p.m. the suspect was driving southbound on Victoria Street. At Park Street the suspect rear ended a vehicle, pushing it forward and into two other vehicles. The suspect then spun around and fled northbound on Victoria Street.

The male suspect was driving a blue van, possibly a Dodge Caravan or Pontiac Montana, with partial licence plate “BLTY”. The vehicle will have front end damage.

Man Arrested for Impaired after Driving Vehicle under a Fence

A 25-year-old local man was arrested for impaired driving and he drove his vehicle off the road and under a fence.

On February 9, 2018 at approximately 1:45 a.m. officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Bath Road and Queen Mary Road. On arrival officers found a vehicle in the ditch on the north side of Bath Road. The vehicle was stuck under a chain link fence beneath a tree. The driver was found inside and uninjured. Upon speaking with the driver, officers detected strong odours of marijuana and alcohol and made several observations he was impaired by alcohol.

The accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he provided two breath samples. The accused was found to have just over 2 times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

The accused was charged with impaired driving and operating a vehicle with over 80 mg of alcohol.

The accused was later released with a future court date. His driver’s licence is automatically suspended for 90 days and would face a one year suspension if convicted. The vehicle was seized and impounded for seven days, with the accused being responsible for all fees and fines.

Victim held Captive for 9 Hours, Sexually and Physically Assaulted by Ex

A 29-year-old local man has been arrested after he held the victim captive for over 9 hours while he sexually and physically assaulted her.

On February 6, 2018 at approximately 12:00 p.m. the accused attended the residence of his ex for what was supposed to be a short visit. While at the residence, the accused went through the victim’s cell phone and became jealous and upset over a conversation on her phone.

For the next nine hours the accused refused to leave the residence, forcing the victim to turn off her phone and holding her captive out of fear and intimidation. During that time the accused sexually and physically assaulted the victim and at one point he pulled out a knife and threatened to self-harm. After the victim fell to floor from being choked, the accused finally ceased the violence, but still refused to leave for several more hours.

On February 7, 2018 the victim reported the incident to police. The victim was brought to the hospital where she was cared for by the staff at the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence clinic.

The accused was later located at his residence and arrested, he was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The accused was charged with forcible confinement, assault, sexual assault, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, harassment by threatening conduct, and two counts of breach probation.

UPDATE: Local Man Facing Multiple Charges in Relation to Child Porn

UPDATE:

A 37-year-old local man arrested on January 19, 2018 in relation to child pornography, has be re-arrested after the on-going investigation uncovered additional criminal offences.

On February 5, 2018 while forensically examining a digital device found during the execution of the search warrant, Detectives discovered videos of the accused sexually assaulting a pre-teen female at his residence in July 2015.

On February 8, 2018 the accused was re-arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a second bail hearing.

The accused is now additionally charged with making child pornography, sexual assault and sexual interference.

A 37-year-old local man has been arrested after an investigation into the sharing of child pornography.

On January 7, 2018 detectives with the Kingston Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit were conducting an online investigation into suspected sharing of child pornography. Through the course of the investigation detectives were able to identify a suspect.

On January 19, 2018 Kingston Police executed a search warrant at the residence of the suspect and multiple digital devices were seized. Through subsequent forensic examination of the devices, detectives found further evidence supporting the charges laid.

The accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The accused was charged with make available child pornography, possess child pornography, and access child pornography.

Police Receiving Numerous Complaints Regarding CRA Scams

Kingston Police have been receiving numerous complaints regarding Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Scams. Two common CRA scams include:

Fraudsters calling and impersonating the CRA. The fraudster demands payment through money services or pre-paid gift cards for discrepancies in filed taxes. Threats of increased penalties, legal action or deportation are used to extract immediate payment.

A second common scam involves fraudsters sending emails claiming you are eligible for a refund and then provide a link to a phony CRA website. The website collects your personal information to be used in various scams.

Cornwall, ON – Rodney Helmer, 44 of Cornwall was arrested on February 9th, 2018 and charged with breach of recognizance for communicating with someone known to have a criminal record and for associating with someone known to be a member of an organized motorcycle club. It is alleged on January 28th, 2018 the man was seen in breach of his conditions by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service and an investigation ensued. On February 9th, 2018 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Jordan Mac Cormack, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on February 10th, 2018 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on February 10th, 2018 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Fifth Street West. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 27th, 2018.

Cornwall, ON – Marc Menard, 35 of Lancaster was arrested on February 11th, 2018 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on February 11th, 2018 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Pitt Street and Thirteenth Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 20th, 2018.

Cornwall, ON – Christopher Riviere, 32 of Cornwall was arrested on February 11th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man breached his probation and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 11th, 2018 the man was located by police, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Cherie Szuky, 43 of Cornwall was arrested on February 11th, 2018 and charged with breach of recognizance for being in possession a cell phone. It is alleged during a traffic stop on February 11th, 2018 the woman was found to be in possession of a cell phone despite her conditions. She was later taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 27th, 2018.

POSSESSION OF COCAINE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Shonna Godfrey, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on February 11th, 2018 and charged with possession of cocaine and breach of recognizance for failing to notify a change of address and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the woman was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine during a traffic stop on February 11th, 2018. She was also found to be in breach of her recognizance. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – Kayla Marshall, 25 of Cornwall was arrested on February 11th, 2018 and charged with breach of recognizance for having care and control of a motor vehicle. She was also charged with breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the woman was found to be in breach of her conditions during a traffic stop on February 11th, 2018. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Ashley Gagnon, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on February 12th, 2018 and charged with theft under $5000 X2 and breach of undertaking and probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the woman attended a local store on two separate occasions (December, 2017 and January, 2018) and removed merchandise making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was taken into custody during a traffic stop on February 12th, 2018, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on February 12th, 2018 and charged with theft under $5000 X 2. It is alleged the youth entered a Second Street East store and removed alcohol on two occasions during January, 2018 making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was taken into custody during a traffic stop on February 12th, 2018, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Updated: Two people charged with First Degree murder in Parkrose Private homicide

Two people charged with First Degree murder in Parkrose Private homicide / Deux personnes inculpées de meurtre au premier degré

(Ottawa) – Major Crime investigators have charged two people in relation to the homicide of Maria Desousa at a residence on Parkrose Private in Orleans.

Paulo DESOUSA, 40 years old and Danielle LEBLANC, 36 years old, both of Ottawa were arrested today and have both been charged with one count of First Degree murder.

They are scheduled to appear in court this afternoon.

Major Crime Section now investigating suspicious death as a homicide

(Ottawa) – On Saturday, February 10, 2018 at approximately 3:30pm, Frontline officers responded to a local Ottawa hospital for a report of a suspicious death. On scene, officers learned from hospital staff that the victim, Maria Desousa, 81 years old, was already deceased when she was brought into the hospital.

This incident is being investigated as a homicide and the Major Crime section has taken carriage of it.

Investigation is ongoing.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(NORTH GLENGARRY, ON) – On February 12, 2018 at approximately 3:13pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a domestic disturbance in North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated than an altercation had taken place between a male and his ex-girlfriend. The Investigation revealed that the male had assaulted the female and caused damage to property within the home.

The adult male (26) of North Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;

–             Mischief

–            Assault

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on March 20, 2018.

His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

(SOUTH DUNDAS,ON) – On February 12, 2018 at approximately 11:28pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop on County Road 8, South Dundas Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Jacob SOLANO (20) of South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

– Care or control with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on March 6, 2018.                                                                                     

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(SOUTH STORMONT,ON) – On February 13, 2018 at approximately 2:21am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Stormont Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Eldon GLEASON (63) Orlando, Florida of was arrested and is charged with;

Brockville Man Charged with Defrauding Kingston Bank over $4700

A 33-year-old Brockville man has been arrested after defrauding a Kingston bank of just over $4700 in the spring of 2017.

In May 2017 the Kingston Police Fraud unit began investigating the bank fraud. The account owner, a Brockville woman was identified, and with the assistance of Brockville Police the accused was identified through surveillance video.

The investigation revealed that the accused and the account holder had previously worked together and were involved in a relationship in 2016. In April 2017 the accused convinced the account holder he was not eligible to open a bank account due to his banking history. The account holder agreed to open an account at a bank in Kingston in her name on his behalf, so he could deposit work cheques. Unbeknownst to the account holder, the accused had stolen a book of her cheques and began depositing forged cheques into the new account. The accused also made multiple cash withdrawals and debit purchases against the new account. The total loss was stopped at just over $4700 when the account was frozen by the bank.

The accused whereabouts were unknown and a warrant was requested.

On February 10, 2018 Kingston Police picked up the accused who had been arrested by Brockville Police. The accused was transported to Kingston police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing.

The accused was charged with fraud, possession of stolen property, and utter forged documents.

Man Threatens Spouse with Knife over Cellphone Dispute

A 29-year-old local man has been arrested after threatening his spouse with a knife during an altercation over her cellphone on two separate occasions.

On February 11, 2018 at approximately 7:00 p.m. the accused and the victim became involved in an altercation when the victim reached for his pocket, believing he had taken her cellphone. The accused responded by hitting her hands with his fists before grabbing a knife and making jabbing motions at her. When the accused eventually put the knife down he grabbed the victim by the throat before retreating to the basement. A short time later he came back up and head butted the victim, causing injury. He then tried to prevent her from fleeing the residence.

The incident was reported to police the following morning by the victim’s family. Further investigation revealed a similar incident earlier in the month. An argument over the accused taking the victims phone led to a physical altercation where the accused grabbed a knife. The accused then made a death threat while jabbing the knife towards the victim.

On February 12, 2018 at approximately 2:30 p.m. the accused was located at his residence and arrested. He was transported to police headquarters and held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The accused was charged with three counts of assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, utter threats, and forcible confinement.

Man Arrested for Assault after Bragging to Witnesses

A 21-year-old local man was arrested for assault after he punched the victim and then allegedly bragged about it to witnesses.

On February 10, 2018 at approximately 5:30 p.m. the victim was with friends at a downtown coffee shop on Princess Street. The accused who is known to the victim came in and invited him outside for a smoke. Once outside the accused punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall and suffer minor injuries. The accused then went back into the restaurant where witnesses reported he bragged about the assault before leaving.

On February 12, 2018 the accused was located at his residence and arrested. He was transported to police headquarters where he was later released with a future court date.

The accused was charged with assault, and three counts of breach probation.

Officers Pull Four Wanted Persons off the Streets in 2 Hours

On February 12, 2018 within the span of two hours, officers located and arrested four wanted persons.

At 11:37 a.m. a 33-year-old local woman was arrested on a warrant for breach recognizance. At 11:41 a.m. a 45-year-old local man was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear in court. At 11:55 a.m. a 38-year-old local man was arrested on a warrant for parole suspension and at 2:05 p.m. 31-year-old local woman was arrested on a warrant for two counts of breach recognizance.

On January 26, 2018 the suspect attended a store in the 1100 block of Princess Street. While in the store the suspect concealed several small items of merchandise before leaving without paying. The suspect was last seen fleeing the area on a bicycle.

Cornwall, ON – Daniel Boudrias, 41 of Cornwall was arrested on February 14th, 2018 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and refusal. It is alleged on February 14th, 2018 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Cumberland Street and Thirteenth Street West. Cornwall, ON – Kaila Clements, 31 of Cornwall, was arrested on February 14th, 2018.  She is currently bound by a recognizance order with the relevant conditions to not contact or be within 100 metres of a certain person, and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on February 14th, 2018, the female was found to be in the company of someone contrary to conditions of her recognizance. She was subsequently charged with breach of recognizance and was held for a bail hearing.

 

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 44-year-old Ottawa man was arrested on February 14th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man breached his probation order by failing to keep the peace, as well as breached his recognizance by driving a motor vehicle, failing to abide by a curfew and not residing at an address indicated in his conditions. It is alleged the male also criminally harassed his ex-girlfriend by repeatedly communicating with her. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 14th, 2018, the male was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

Cornwall, ON – Quincy O’Shea, 19 of Kemptville was arrested on February 15th, 2018 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on February 15th, 2018 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Brookdale Avenue. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 1st, 2018.

WARRANT, THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jacob Benoit, 18 of Cornwall was arrested on February 15th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of recognizance for being outside his residence between certain hours. It is alleged on February 15th, 2018 the man who was wanted by police on a warrant for not signing in was spotted in the area of the Cornwall Square. He was taken into custody after a brief foot chase that ended in the area of Second Street and Gloucester Street. Benoit was also found to be in possession of a quantity of stolen chocolate bars. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.



BREAK AND ENTER, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Justin Rainey, 29 of Cornwall was arrested on February 15th, 2018 and charged with two break and enters that occurred at local businesses on February 3rd, 2018. He was also charged with breach of recognizance and probation for failing to keep the peace. Rainey was also found to have breached his probation order for attending a certain business, being within 100 meters of that location and for being outside his residence between the hours of 11pm and 6am. It is alleged on February 3rd, 2018 the man forced his way into two local businesses and removed a quantity of money. Police were contacted and investigations ensued. On February 15th, 2018The man was spotted by an off duty member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

#OPP Charge 8 Youth in Cardinal Church Break In – 022018

On February the 18, 2018, at approximately 10pm, a resident of Cardinal observed several youths entering an abandoned church, located on Dundas Street in Cardinal. The Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended and arrested 8 youths for break and enter. The youth’s range in age from 13 to 16 and are all from the Cardinal area. Six of the eight involved youths were diverted, under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Additionally, a 16 and 14 year old male were charged criminally with the break and enter. The charged youths will attend the Ontario Court of Justice Brockville on 27 March 2018.



On February the 18, 2018 the OPP responded to an entry alarm at the Bridgeview Restaurant, located on County Road 2, in Edwardsburgh Township. When officer’s arrived the suspect(s) were no longer at scene. Officer’s observed that entry was gained through the rear of the building. The suspect(s) appeared to have been looking for cash, but nothing was reported stolen. The OPP Scenes of Crime Officer attended to collect evidence.

The investigation is currently on-going.

4 Charged Firing Shots on Nelson Street in Ottawa 022018

Four people charged after a shots fired Investigation on Nelson Street

(Ottawa) – On the 18th of February, 2018, at approximately 2156 hrs, Central patrol officers were called to the area of the 100 block of Nelson Street regarding shots fired at a residence resulting in damage being sustained. Initial investigation by frontline officers identified a suspect vehicle involved in this incident and a suspect and vehicle that were known to the complainant.



On the 19th of February 2018 at approx. 0045hrs, a frontline patrol officer spotted the suspect vehicle on Vanier Parkway, and with the assistance of other Patrol officers, the vehicle was stopped without incident. As a result of this vehicle stop, 7 people were arrested and 2 replica firearms (pellet guns) and knives were located and seized.

Cornwall, ON – Christopher Benedict, 37 of Akwesasne was arrested on February 16th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to comply with a recognizance order and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 16th, 2018 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended the Cornwall Courthouse as the man was in custody on unrelated charges. The warrant was executed and the man remained in custody pending a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – Jaret Leger, 31 of Cornwall was arrested on February 16th, 2018 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on February 16th, 2018 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Cumberland Street and Eighth Street. Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on February 17th, 2018 and charged with assault with a weapon and mischief. It is alleged during an argument on February 17th, 2018 the woman made a gesture with a knife towards her ex-boyfriend and damaged his phone. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 6th, 2018. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Alexander Green, 27 of Monkland was arrested on February 17th, 2018 and charged with possession of marijuana and breach of recognizance for being in possession of marijuana. It is alleged on February 17th, 2018 the man was stopped at the Port of Entry and found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 27th, 2018.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on February 17th, 2018 and charged with breach of probation for communicating with her ex-boyfriend and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 17th, 2018 police attended a Guy Street address for a disturbance and found the woman in breach of her conditions. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Brandon Wilson, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on February 17th, 2018 on the strength of warrant. It is alleged the man breached his probation order and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 17th, 2018 the man was spotted by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service in the area of Louisa Street. He was taken in to custody on the strength of the warrant after a brief foot chase and held for a bail hearing.

POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING COCAINE, POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Zaine Abdin, 31 of Cornwall was arrested on February 17th, 2018 and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marijuana and property obtained by crime. It is alleged during a traffic stop on February 17th, 2018 the man was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine, marijuana and Canadian currency. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

OVER 80, POSSESSION OF COCAINE AND MARIJUANA, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Justin Cloutier, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on February 18th, 2018 and charged with over 80, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 18th, 2018 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol when he was stopped at a RIDE program. He was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and cocaine. He was subsequently charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.
